All right, you've asked yourself, "Why Stinky's?" Our reply is ..... "Hey,
you won't forget a name like that!... now would ya?!" And after you've
experienced our tasty food & refreshing drinks, you won't forget that
Stinky's Grill is a great place to come for lunch or dinner no matter what
season it is! No one is really sure what Stinky's real name is. We do know that he picked up the name as a child while playing ball on the playgrounds of his neighborhood. Stinky loved sports and his dream was to become a professional athlete. He was quite athletic as a youngster, but for some unknown reason people kept saying, "Hey, you stink!" Even his own teammates would say it. It didn't matter if he sunk the winning free throw, caught the winning touchdown, or hit the ball out of the park for a grand slam. It's a mystery to this day. He soon became known as Stinky to everyone. He soon realized that his future as a professional athlete was bleak. |
It
was on Thanksgiving day in 1985 when Stinky had a revelation. He
loved Thanksgiving. It was a day that included some of his most
favorite things good football , good food and good people gathered
together for good times. Stinky always helped his mother prepare the
dinner and serve all of the guests. He had high standards and made
sure that everything was perfect. His dad and his uncle were
watching the Cowboys game on that fateful Thanksgiving when it happened.
His dad and uncle started jumping up and down and yelling about a bad call
that the referee had made. "What a terrible call, ref! Get some glasses,
you bum!" The sold out crowd at the stadium started chanting, "you
stink, you stink..." His dad and uncle joined in... "You
stink, you stink!" Stinky now knew that the perfect job for him was
a professional sports referee

Stinky's other passions are food and making people happy. He felt
that a great sports town like Santa Maria deserved a great sports
restaurant/bar. By opening Stinky's Grill, that is what he intends
to bring to the area. Stinky's in not a sports bar. It is a
full service sports restaurant that is full of energy, excitement and
drama of sports. Stinky's is for everyone.
